Manual costs for Supabase, email, monitoring and more
Add costs that have no API — Supabase, Resend, Sentry, Postmark, seats — as recurring or one-off manual costs in MarginMeter so your gross margin is complete.
Not every cost has an API. Database hosting, transactional email, error monitoring and support tools are often part of serving customers — and missing them overstates your margin.
How manual costs work
Pick a preset (Supabase, Resend, Sentry and others) or enter your own vendor, amount, currency and schedule. MarginMeter spreads recurring costs daily and converts currencies at the daily ECB rate. Every manual amount carries a Manual label in the dashboard.
COGS, OpEx or excluded
Each cost has a class:
- COGS — part of serving customers; counts against gross margin.
- OpEx — internal tools, staging, R&D; shown separately.
- Excluded — ignored entirely.
Frequently asked questions
How are yearly costs spread?
Recurring costs are spread evenly per day across their period, so a yearly invoice doesn't create a one-day spike in your margin. One-off costs can land on a single day or be spread.
Do manual costs count toward gross margin?
Only if you classify them as COGS. You can also mark costs as OpEx (shown separately) or exclude them.
