The formulas
Discounts reduce MRR; trials, one-off charges, tax and usage-based fees are excluded. MRR is a run-rate, not the revenue you earned this month — see Stripe revenue vs MRR.
Beyond the snapshot
The useful questions are about movement: how much MRR came from new customers, expansion, contraction and churn. MarginMeter reconstructs this from your Stripe subscriptions. Definitions: MRR, ARR, ARPA.
Frequently asked questions
How do annual plans count in MRR?
At one-twelfth of the annual price per month, regardless of when they were paid.
Should I include usage-based revenue?
Not in MRR. It is not committed recurring revenue, though it still counts as revenue when invoiced.
