Setup
Create an admin key in the Claude Console under organization settings and paste it into MarginMeter. The key is encrypted with AWS KMS and used only by background workers to read cost reports.
Known limitations
- The Admin API is only available for organization accounts.
- Priority Tier costs are not included in the cost report.
- Claude.ai and Claude Code subscriptions are separate and not included.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an organization account?
Yes. Anthropic's Admin API — which provides the cost report — is available to organization accounts in the Claude Console.
Are Claude.ai subscriptions included?
No. Claude.ai and Claude Code subscriptions are billed separately and are not part of the API cost report. Add them as manual costs if they are part of serving customers.
